The Icy Dock ExpressCage MB741V4P-B transforms a single external 3.5-inch bay, such as a floppy disk drive bay, into high-performance NVMe storage. It is compatible with a U.2/U.3 NVMe SSD with a height of 7 mm to 15 mm, allowing modern high-speed drives to be installed in compact enclosures. Via the PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, the SSD achieves data transfer speeds of up to 64 Gbit/s, depending on the host system. The innovative ExpressTray design allows the SSD to be installed without tools, but it can also be screwed in for greater stability. An easily accessible eject button and a removable tray allow quick and safe drive changes, while an integrated locking mechanism prevents accidental removal. The metal enclosure is equipped with vents that ensure effective passive cooling of the SSD. LED indicators provide information about the SSD's operating status and activity.
