With the DIGITUS 2.5" SATA hard drive adapter, you can cost-effectively increase system speed and performance by installing an M.2 or mSATA SSD in your PC or laptop. The hard drive adapter is used as a standard 2.5" hard drive with a SATA III connector, and the low installation height of just 7 mm allows it to be installed in all common laptops. The following types of M.2 (NGFF) SSDs are supported: M.2 Type 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 with B-Key and B+M-Key. M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs with M-Key are not supported. In addition, mSATA SSDs with Mini PCIe 52 PIN connectors are supported in full-size variants. The respective installed SSD is selected using a DIP switch on the board. Boot processes are supported by all standard operating systems such as Windows, Mac OS or Linux. The SSD’s internal storage is protected from dust and damage by the fully enclosed aluminum housing. The SATA III interface offers a data transfer rate of 6 Gbit/s, and the read speed can reach up to 520 MB/s, depending on the SSD used. The adapter supports SATA Rev.3.2 with DEVSLP power-saving mode.
