Unlike standard WiFi protocols, the proprietary AirMax protocol
from Ubiquiti, based on Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), allows
each client to send and receive data at time intervals pre-
designated by an intelligent controller built into the AP. This method
of time-slot allocation eliminates hidden-node collisions and
maximizes efficiency. AirMax-based equipment offers higher
performance, lower latency and greater scalability compared with other
outdoor equipment in its class. The Smart QoS feature prioritizes voice and
video to prevent interruptions. High capacity and scalability, high
speed over long distances, Carrier Class links, low latency and a drastic reduction
in noise are other features.
