What is this product used for?

The TL-SG1005P is an unmanaged 5-port 10/100/1000 Mbps switch,
which requires no configuration and provides 4 PoE ports (Power
over Ethernet). It can automatically detect and supply power to
devices powered in accordance with the IEEE 802.3af standard. In this case,
electrical power is transmitted along with data over a single cable,
allowing you to extend your network to areas without power outlets or electrical
cables, where devices such as Access Points,
IP cameras or IP phones, etc., can be installed.
Power over Ethernet

4 of the switch’s 5 auto-negotiating RJ45 ports (ports 1 to 4)
support Power over Ethernet (PoE) mode. These PoE ports automatically detect
the presence of devices compatible with the IEEE 802.3af standard
and supply them with electrical power

Overload protection

The TL-SG1005P features a priority function* that helps protect the
equipment when the system’s power supply is overloaded. If the
power consumption of all PoE devices is greater than or equal to 56 W, a
power priority is assigned among the PoE ports, according to which the switch
cuts power to the port with the lowest priority
priority.

Port Priority Function

Priority (port 1 >, port 2 >, port 3 >, port 4): This function helps
protect the system under normal operating conditions, which means that
Port 4 will stop supplying power when the total power of all
powered devices exceeds 56 W. For example, ports 1, 2 and 4 are
using 15.4 W (the maximum power per port is 15.4 W), so the
the system’s total power supply is 56 W. If a PoE device is connected
that consumes an additional 10 W on port 3, the device disconnects the
power supply to port 4 to protect itself. This way, ports 1 and 2
will consume 15.4 W, port 3 will use 10 W, and no power will be supplied
to the port 4.
