The Noctua NA-SC1 Sx2 set includes two NA-SC1 3-way splitter cables that allow three fans to be powered and controlled simultaneously from a single fan connector. If the splitter cables are connected in series, a total of five fans can be operated and controlled at the same time. The NA-SC1 3-way splitter cables route the PWM speed-control signal from the input plug to the three output sockets. In addition, the NA-SC1 cables send the RPM signal from the first fan to the fan connector, allowing PC motherboards and other fan controllers to read the RPM. The cables’ 4-pin connectors are secured by a notch against misalignment and are compatible with 4-pin and 3-pin fans. While 4-pin fans can be controlled using PWM, the speed of 3-pin fans can be controlled by reducing the voltage. The NA-SC1 cables are protected against mechanical wear, heat and flames (up to 200 °C, UL 1441 certified) by Noctua’s distinctive woven, silicone-coated fiberglass sleeve. This makes the NA-SC1 ideal not only for use in PCs, but also for other domestic applications and applications in critical and harsh industrial environments. The cables are compatible with all current Noctua 5V, 12V and 24V fans, as well as many fans from other suppliers. Thanks to the keyed connectors, fans can only be connected in the correct position.
